It Is The Sort Of World

It is the sort of World we live in today
That those with the most money have most of the say
And those into self promotion in a big way
Are proving to many that narcissism can pay
To the twenty first century humility does not belong
In one who is humble many see something wrong
We are in the age when those who are humble few seem to admire
And just to be like them fewer even desire
The look at me people are no longer rare
In promotion of self no effort they spare
But as the sages of old in their wisdom did say
From their higher selves the egotistical are the furthest away
It is not a nice World for to live in
Where the humble are those who cannot seem to win.
