In her time in Britain by many she was the entertainer of choice
One of the darlings of the music hall ballads many decades ago
But sadly of such entertainmment time has become the foe
In April nineteen forty on her sixty fourth birthday the music hall queen
Of a cerebral haemmorhage she collapsed and died whilst singing for the troops in Scotland in Aberdeen
In Streatham Cemetery in London her last remains lay
And on you tube her amazing voice it is living today.
