Recently in her seventy third year she passed from life the amazing Millie Small
In nineteen sixty four with her song 'My Boy Lollipop' she knew of overnight Worldwide fame
And in the World of pop became a celebrated name
A tiny dark skinned Jamacian and beautiful to behold
Millie Small was a legendary singer in the days of old
An energetic and talented performer of her one can say
Her sort are quite rare in the World of today
In the era of pop post rock and roll
A dynamic entertainer and a beautiful soul
The marvellous Millie one free of conceit
And so very likeable and charmingly sweet
A memorable entertainer from decades long past
So sad to learn Millie Small she has breathed her last
Great memories of her at her best from the sixties refuse for to fade
Today on radio 'My Boy Lollipop' a few times was played
A dynamic entertainer when in her physical prime
Though this is going back many Seasons in time
The great Millie Small has lived her last night and day
May she be at peace now wherever she does lay.
