Though fond memories of them i do retain
Most of my friends in Duhallow i will not see again
Some of them like me from their first homes ageing far away
And some of them at peace forever does lay
Our biological clocks ever keep ticking fast
Our memory is our only link to the past
Those i went to school with are ageing today
And our biological clock ever ticking away
With them i socialized but that was long ago
We went our own ways in life and time became our foe
Though they remain young in my memory i have not seen them for years
And for what used to be i have shed my last tears
We can only live in the now as the wise does say
And the past is a memory and the now is today.
