You may not become famous for your honesty
Though the truth painful to tell of any guilt will set you free
Lying can become a mind game people with each other play
And that one lie leads to another lie only true for to say
In certain professions honesty is not known for to pay
And no shortage of tainted professions in the Human World of today
In professional careers that truth does not go well far more than a few
And this is not saying anything in any way that is new
The truth for to tell on you may be a hurtful thing
But relief to your conscience it only can bring
From lying some saving of face you may gain
But the guilt that you harbour in you will remain
For as long as you live until the day you will die
And this all because you have chosen to lie.
