Quite typical weather for the time of year
But to where i am walking in the park playground near
The laughter of children so uplifting to hear
The days growing short in the southern May
And the calendar Winter nearing by the day
But the laughter of children such a marvellous thing
And joy to the listener never fail to bring
In the Autumn sunshine in the park of the town
They laugh as they chase the football up and down
A moment for to live on in memory
When children are playing of cares they are free
Their play hour for them is such a happy time
Such memories that give rise to song, story and rhyme.
