His Positive Attitude

He has known how it feels like to be hungry and he has often slept rough
But he never gave up on hope when times on him were tough
A child of abusive parents and a street boy of fourteen
The tougher sides of life he is one who has seen
On the poor side of the town where only the fittest survive
As a boy he had to steal food just to stay alive
But of better days he did live in hope
And in times of adversity he managed to cope
With his terrible existence for one so young
On the side of the town lived in by the unsung
With a full time job and a beautiful young wife and baby daughter at the age of twenty three
He is one of the few who has risen above poverty
In his teenage years he lived life in the hard way
His positive attitude for him did pay.
