His cows all around him on a very nice day
Chewing his cud in the sunshine the hereford bull lay
His herd all by him pregnant for him a restful time of year
And no other bull for him to worry about anywhere near
The farmer feels rather proud of him indeed
Some of his progeny in the show ring have been adjudged best of breed
From prospective buyers big offers he has turned down
Thanks to the progeny of his bull he is no longer a stranger to anyone in the nearby town
That some of his progeny in the show ring have won first prize
Is something the big red white faced bull does not seem to realize
Of nutritious young grass his stomach is full
One can say of him he looks a happy bull
He sits in the sunshine chewing his cud at ease
Bulls unlike us humans are easy to please.
