He went to see life in the big World out there
And he is growing old as a man from elsewhere
The lot of an ageing migrant one might say
There are many like him in the World of today
Though of English he does have a reasonable command
His accent some do find hard to understand
Growing old in a big town in the coastal countryside
The man from the north who has travelled far and wide
Though he has had many women in his life
He has never had children or he has never had a wife
He would be a stranger today in the far away town
Where he used to live when his hair was light brown
And a foreigner in this Land he only can be
The lot of the migrant would you not agree?
