On Rufous Whistlers

A loud clap of thunder in the grey afternoon sky
And a small bird is whistling on a tree nearby
A voice once heard never more to get wrong
Loud noise always inspires the rufous whistler to song
Male rufous whistlers white under throat, bluish grey on back and unders fawnish brown
One often hear them in thunder as the rain pours down
The greyish brown female not as vocal as the male in her breeding Season in an untidy cup of grass lay
Two dotted buff eggs on branch of tree from view in leaves hidden away
It is said rufous whistlers are becoming rarer due to Climate Change
But in their favour in Australia they do have a Nationwide range
And this as a species may help them to survive
In loud traffic noise and thunder song in them comes alive
Birds i have heard and seen though not every day
About them they have quite a distinctive way.
