The Ordinary Man

He does remain loyal to his duties in life
And he takes good care of his children and good care of his wife
With his life from attack them he would defend
And to those he does like he is quite a good friend

After work he enjoys a few beers in the local pub
And as a paid up member of the local football club
Every club meeting in the club rooms he does attend
To any organization his sort is a godsend.

His loyalthy as such is never in doubt
And those who refer to his sort as ordinary what are they on about
Since the ordinary are becoming the extraordinary of the Human World of today
As they are no longer that plentiful in truth one can say

On the loyalty of monogamy the ordinary man does believe
And true to his higher self his wife he would never deceive
He may not be religious or ambitious or admirers seek to win
But he is one who has his own god within

Great wealth and celebrity status he never desire
And though he is one so few do wish to admire
Since the life he does live does seem quite ordinary
But the ordinary man is extraordinary to me.
