Sad news out of Millstreet online to read of today
John Barry of Lackabawn from life has passed away
A founder member of Barry's vintage car and tractor business with his son Dan
John was such a kind and a gentle and a likeable man
One devoted to his family and his wife his lifetime soulmate Ann
Of the Millstreet Athletic Club he was a loyal fan
Always at cross country meetings in Liscahane urging the Millstreet athletes on
The memories remain of the Seasons long gone
In his prime years a tall and handsome fellow and gentle in his way
Always quietly spoken with never too much to say
So down to earth and such a nice person to meet
He will be sadly missed in the Town of Millstreet
A fact of our human existence and fact never lie
Is we are all born into life to eventually die
But for to live as a good person one can only do their best
And with honours John Barry was one who did pass this test
In his lifetime John Barry made many a friend
And one can only hope that he had a painless end
Though physically in life well past his better years
He was one well worthy of life's farewell tears.
