As Happiness Goes

Many people do yearn for wealth and for fame
And be looked up to and admired as one of a great name
But many of the wealthy and famous are far from carefree
As happiness goes they are in poverty
Though their praises the admiring masses do sing
In life they too do not have everything
And since happiness it cannot be bought or sold
As unhappy people they are destined to grow old
Some of the poor people on the poor side of the town
Do not live as unhappy though financially down
Though life is tough on them they never complain
The workings of the human mind beyond most to explain
And though money is quite important when all is said and done
It does not bring happiness to everyone.
