I Am One Of Those

I am one of those addicted to the penning of rhyme
And of them i have written so many over decades of time
I do it for enjoyment not for fame or pay
And i add to my numbers of them every day
Not one who is worthy of the title of poet
Or on any sort of literary note
I am one who loved reading rhymes as a schoolboy
And writing them nowadays is a thing i enjoy
Most of us have our hobbies in life one suppose
And those with many friends are not without foes
And though one may be found to be wanting when put to the test
At least you can console yourself if you did try your best
As a rhymer i too have failed to make the grade
But every writer is needed in the wordsmith trade.
