It Says Much About Us

It says much about us in life what we desire
And of what we aspire to and of who we admire
Whether you are ambitious, self centered, materialistic or kind
In your words you tell others of the workings of your mind
In the twenty first century money to most people is seen as most important it does seem
As those with lots of it are famous and held in high public esteem
Not surprising then that most young people yearn for money and fame
And become known to many as one of a great name
Few like Mother Therese who dedicated her life to helping others wish to be known
But then when it comes to humanity suppose it is each to their own
Sadly the caring and compassionate and those with others willing to share
In the Human World are becoming more rare
That to be wealthy and famous many aspire to is not a surprise
Though to narcissism they are known to give rise.
