The singer musician Christy Cooney from life has passed away
Irish by birth he made his home in Apollo Bay
Quite a gentle and likeable person of him one can say
Christy was a man who drunk many a beer
And in song and music he was one who spread cheer
He did know the words of many an old song
And took part and enjoyed in many a pub sing along
In his early seventies he had made many friends over the years
And his passing from life will not go without tears
For all of us from life a final release
The great Christy Cooney may he now rest in peace.
