The sun peers at times from behind clouds of grey
And it does seem that rain may not be far away
From Illowa of the Moyne Shire near the Pacific shore
Yesterday it rained heavily for two hours or more
The countryside between Warrnambool and Koroit Town
Is now looking green it was recently brown
After the long dry spell the land welcomes rain
And with the recent downpour you will not hear many complain
In Illowa always great natural beauty to see
A beauty for to view that is always free
In a place that to Earthly Utopia is near
The songs of the pee wees always pleasant to hear
And though the sun seldom shines from behind clouds of grey
The magpies are warbling in Illowa today.
