Some tell me since for doing it you never receive any pay
Perhaps it is time that you gave writing of rhyme away
But rhyming in me fills some sort of a need
The reason their advice i never does heed
I have been writing rhymes since my physical prime
And this is going back near four decades in time
Though not one of those to the literary fore
It is something i love doing and little else more
Not one who is worthy of any literary note
And i leave it to others the title of poet
A migrant growing old far south of my Homeland
This is part of my life's destiny not something i planned
But as for rhyming i never will give it away
And i hope to be doing it on my life's final day.
