It is a nice time of year in Aubane in the Spring
In the valley by Mushera when the nesting birds sing
And cattle out of wintering sheds from months of eating silage and hay
On nutritious young grass are gaining weight by the day
Along the high countryside above Millstreet Town
The narrow Butter Road winds up and down
Up from Aubane valley by Mushera's Hill
A scenic old place where time seems to stand still
The people of Aubane for their hospitality known
Where they welcome a stranger as one of their own
To an old Irish culture their links remain strong
In their community hall they do have their ceilis and evenings of dance and song
But Spring in Aubane is the greenest time of year
When the voice of the migratory cuckoo one often does hear
And the swallows home to breed from Lands far away
Above the green valley fly in pursuit of flying insects all day
Where a stranger is welcomed as a familiar face
For to live in or visit quite a beautiful place
Aubane in Duhallow above Millstreet Town
Where the narrow Butter Road does wind up and down.
