There Is Always One Better

You may be quite brilliant at best what you do
But remember there is always one better than you
Yes always one better though great you may be
Though success seldom does come with humility

Though the praises of winners the masses only sing
There is not one person in the World who is not good at something
Though some for their gifts never receive money as pay
Everybody is gifted in some sort of a way

Though you may be found to be wanting when put to the test
At least you did try and you gave of your best
For winners there has to be losers life works in this way
But there is always another time and another day

At what you do you are the best in the town
And you stand on the pinnacle of local renown
But in distance you may not have to travel that far
To meet what you are good at one better than you are

Locally the best at what you are good at today
But with your success do not get carried away
For you to realize that there is one better should be a humbling thing
So leave it to others your praises to sing.
