In time few things ever does seem to last
And in memory we are only linked to the past
We can only live in the now and the now is today
And time on our lives ever ticking away
The fact of the matter and fact never lie
Is the longer you live the sooner you will die
On how long we live we do not have a say
Many who thought they were unexpendable in cemeteries lay
The good memories of what was in us does remain
As the only link to the past that we retain
No matter what you achieve in life you ought not to forget
That for you too there will be a final sunset
Your life span will long outlive this simple rhyme
But eventually you too will fall victim of time.
