Though it has rained overnight it is warm today
With the sun shining bright in a sky blue and grey
And the sweet scent of freshly mowed grass mowed for silage or hay
Wafting in the breeze blowing uphill from the bay
In November with the far warmer days of Summer quite near
In the coastal Moyne Shire it is a green time of the year
The lush green paddocks resplendent in their Nature's flowers
That have come to bloom in the recent Spring showers
The warm air full of the buzzing of bush flies and bees
And white butterflies seemingly dancing in the breeze
The wild birds proclaim their territory in song
Some of them by their voices one could never get wrong
And with the sun on their dark wings chirping as they fly
The welcome swallows are chasing insects in the sky.
