Diego Armando Maradona has died but his legend lives on

The World's greatest footballer on his prime day

For Argentina he gave many a memorable display

Maradona at his best was skilful, brilliant and fast

In his sixtieth year he breathed his last

Breath of life but his legend with him did not die

Though those who call him a god believe their own lie

One of the all time greats of the World game of football

Maradona was human and not a god after all

On the life of a god there is not a time span

Though a great footballer Maradona was just a mortal man

In Argentina at his passing widespread shedding of tears

And the legend of Maradona will outlive him for years.
