Their flute like whistling so pleasant to hear
So distinctive to their species and melodious and clear
Greyish brown in their range quite well known
Grey shrike thrushes are birds who have ways of their own
Memories of them are not hard to retain
Once seen and once heard you will know them again
Often on their own and one does not see or hear them every day
Near where trees are they do like to stay
The size of a blackbird with a beautiful whistling song
Among Nature's finest minstrels they do belong
In a cup nest of grass and bark in a hollow log or on low fork of tree
The female lay white brown dotted eggs of four, two or three
Of human kind they do not seem very shy
Grey shrike thrushes the name that they are known by.
