The sweet scent of grass mowed for silage or hay
Blowing in the warm breeze of a November day
In the sunny blue sky just a few clouds of grey
In near to perfect weather in truth one can say
A forecast high for the day of a pleasant twenty degrees
And the nesting birds chirping and singing on the bushes and trees
The warm air full of the buzzing of bush flies and bees
And white butterflies seemingly dancing in the breeze
Blowing across the green paddocks from the nearby saltwater bay
One does wish every day could be like today
Such beauty that artists and writers inspire
Of singing Nature's praises one never could tire
The contented cattle on lush grass chewing their cuds do lay
And warmer days of Summer not that far away.
