Five years with a century she had lived for many a day
The town's oldest person in eternal rest lay
Predeceased by twenty years by her husband he died aged eighty three
She was the matriarch of a large family

And over the decades her friends in numbers had grown
To her children a good mother and to her husband a good wife
The town's oldest person was one who lived a long life
All of those she had gone to school with she had outlived for many years
Yet her passing from life did not go without tears
A kind soul she was one who had made many a friend
But sadly the longest life journey does come to an end
Her parting from life for her a painless release
In the grave with her husband she now rests in peace.
