We are born to mortality is not a lie
And the longer you live the sooner you will die
Like leaves of the Autumn to death we do fall
One wonders what life is about after all?
Of rational thinking our egos get in the way
The Earth that does feed us we abuse every day
We cannot own the Earth since to her we belong
On some of our thinking we have it all wrong
The future generations of people for our greed will pay
And of us they will not have nice things to say
of malnutrition due to famines caused by droughts many will die young
Our praises by them do not deserve to be sung
In the early twenty first century we are in the age of human greed
Of far more selfless people the Human World is in need
Despite our many human successes we have little to celebrate
Since the Earth that does feed us we do not appreciate
What is life about if our successes are based on material gain
And the mistakes of our ancestors by us repeated again
In a Human World where greed is not looked on as a sin
Sadly the greediest are those who always do win.
