As neighbours they live but as strangers they meet
They pass each other in silence on the street
Due to a boundary fence line dispute long ago
Going back in time some five decades or so
Great grandfathers they both are divorced from their wives
An old grudge between them to this day survives
Only silence when they meet no words for to say
No good morning, good evening, hello or good day
That old grudges live on as a truism remain
The meaning in this it's own self does explain
To forgive to either of them would be a loss of pride
Since they both do believe they have right on their side
That old grudges do live on is not a lie
As neighbours they live but it is not as friends they will die.
