Sad news from Duhallow's old green countryside
Donie Casey the well known farmer and cattle breeder has died
A huge loss to his family and Marie his wife
Without having some cross to bear so few do go through life
In his over seven decades time span
Donie lived life as an honourable man
Among cattle breeders he was one who was widely known
But to the people in Cloghoula in Millstreet he was one of their own
Though he was one who was advancing in years
His passing from life would not have gone without tears
But for all of us there is a last night and day
In St Mary's cemetery in Millstreet his last remains lay
And though the last breath of life from his mortal body has gone
Good memories of him in all who knew him will live on.
