A November Day In The Moyne Shire

In the coastal Moyne Shire on this November day
The sweet scent of grass mowed for silage or hay
Under a sunny sky blowing in the freshening breeze
On a pleasant Spring day of around twenty degrees
Such beauty in the Moyne Shire today today to be seen
After the recent rain the countryside looking green
The cattle are grazing on grass to their knees
And the wild birds chirping and singing on bushes and trees
In stamens of brown and petals of gold
The cape flowers in bloom beautiful to behold
This sort of weather is to Mother Earth's gain
The warmth in the sunshine after the recent rain
And with the sun on their wings in the blue and grey sky
In pursuit of flying insects the dark swallows fly.
