When The Redwings Are Back

You know that the Winter will soon be around
When the redwings are back on their wintering ground
They leave their home fields that are covered in snow
To winter further south where it is cooler though the winds with a chill blow
In November they arrive on their wintering woods and fields for their three to four months stay
Where they can find more food on the slightly longer day
When their home fields are snow covered and frost-bound from the seasonal freeze
In Winter to where the weather is milder by at least ten degrees
They do migrate to where most of them the Winter will survive
In Spring many of them will return home to breed though weakened alive
In November the redwings arrive on their wintering fields for their Winter stay
And will return to sub arctic woods to breed in mid April to early May
With their journey south each year they have a date
Their need for survival force them to migrate.
