Perhaps as a rhymer i am not good enough
My rhymes at the best of times seem a bit rough
In the World of rhymers not one to the fore
I just write for enjoyment and little else more
Since of such a title i am not worthy of note
I never refer to myself as a poet
I used to love reading rhymes as a young boy
And writing them nowadays is a thing i enjoy
It is not saying anything that is in any way that is new
That poetasters are many and poets are few
If i did not enjoy rhyming i would give it away
So i add to my numbers of rhymes every day
When i say as a rhymer praise is not my due
To my higher self i am only being true.
