I am one of those who enjoys writing rhyme
It is something i have been doing since my physical prime
Going back back the years this now seems long ago
And since time that rusts iron has become my foe
An amateur writer not to the literary fore
I am just one of many the literary criotics ignore
But i no longer daydream of literary fame
I feel happy to live as a not well known name
For many years i have been a rhyming buff
Just one who has written a whole heap of stuff
There are so many like me in every town
Who can only daydream of literary renown
And if i say i will quit rhyming this would be a lie
As i hope to be doing it until the day i do die.
