Hibernia In November

The huge white wind driven waves crashing on the sea cliffs today
On the shores of Hibernia from here far away
And furthter inland the hills wear hats of snow
And the chill winds of November across the sky blow
Hibernia place of winter the name given by the Romans for the Ireland of today
They arrived in their war ships but there did not stay
It must have been in the depths of Winter the coldest time of year
Of pre written or oral history it is up to you  to believe what you read of or of hear
Ireland was an old Land before the first people to it came
Long before it was called Hibernia the Greek explorer Pythias of Massilia called it Ierne by name
But this is from pre written history and from such legend is made
And in pre written history the truth into time has been known for to fade
And in the land once known as Hibernia today
In the grey sky of November the sun is hidden away.
