In November By The Boggeraghs

Behind the grey clouds the sun hidden away
It is cold , wet and windy by the Boggeraghs today
The low clouds of rain down the mountains crawl
In changeable November in the dying days of the Fall
The cattle in the farmyard sheds the empty fields though green bare
In November by the Boggeraghs pleasant weather is rare
The migratory redwing thrushes from colder northern lands far away
Have arrived in the fields for their Winter stay
From the overcast sky the windblown rain slanting down
And the rivers bank high in flood waters of brown
From the waters of bank high rills and streams into bigger waterways grow
And flood the surrounding fields where they overflow
And high on the bare deciduous trees the hungry rooks call
In November by the Boggeraghs in the dying days of the Fall.
