Far north of here he grew into a man
On his balding head the hair grey that used to be brown
He may die far south of his first hometown
Many times a great grand-dad his wife of fifty six years
Her death last Summer reduced him to tears
Devoted to him until her last breath in life
They lived as a happily married husband and wife
Of happier days in life he is one who has known
In his two bedroom unit he lives on his own
Born and raised in Lindau in Bavaria in Germany
Though fluent in English he retains the accent of his original Country
Quite a nice old fellow in his gentle way
He walks on his own in the park every day.
