Quite Bleak Overall

In Australia feral cats and foxes have pushed many small species of wildlife to extinction brink
That because of them many species have become endangered so sad of to think
That this never makes news headlines only true to say
That wildlife are not seen as important in the World of today
To the few who speak out for the preservation of wildlife great credit is due
On so doing to their higher selves they are only being true
Millions of birds and small animals being slaughtered by cats and foxes every year
That many small creatures need protection from introduced predators is obviously clear
Due to the destruction of natural habitat for development as well as climate change wild creatures are doing it tough
For their survival with these things to contend with ought to be enough
And add to this the mass slaughter by predators makes their struggle for survival harder by far
Small animal and bird numbers are dwindling where introduced predators are
Little hope in Australia in their wild state for birds and creatures that are small
The future for them looks quite bleak overall.
