True To My Calling

Do not care if mine is not a widely known name
Or if i am a stranger to any sort of literary fame
Any hope of literary success years ago from me did fade
Still every writer is needed in the wordsmith trade
It was my love of rhyme made a rhymer of me
And a rhymer is all that i do wish to be
For many years i have been a rhyming buff
And all i wish is for to write readable rhyming stuff
I used to love reading rhymes when i was a boy
And writing them nowadays i thoroughly enjoy
One who is not worthy of the title of poet
I feel no desire for any literary note
My best days in life in the forever gone
But true to my calling i keep rhyming on.
