For the first of July such a beautiful day
Even warmth in the sun in the park by the bay
Just so nice to be living in truth one can say
Though it is near mid Winter in this southern Land
A day like today by the gods must have been planned
The warbling of the magpies so pleasant to hear
On quite amazing weather for the time of year
From the recent Winter showers the parkland so green
And in the yellow blossoms on the wattle trees such beauty to be seen
Though frost overnight and the morning was cold
On Mother Earth in Winter sunshine great beauty to behold
Though at least eight weeks from the birth of the Spring
In the sunlit parkland the birds chirp and sing.
