The Old Dog And The Pup

The old brown dog looking sleepy and tired and his muzzle is grey

And clearly he has known of a better day

The five months old black and white pup at him bark begging him for to play

But the old dog growls back telling him to go away

The old dog long past his playing days all he wishes to do is sleep

Whilst the pup barks at him his safe distance from him keep

Last week the old dog him did chastise

And for the pup it is better of him to stay clear he has come to realize

The old dog is much like a cranky old man

Who is near to the end of his living span

Feeling tired after an hour of chewing on his bone

All he wishes for now is to be left alone

The pup he is not lacking in energy

Like all puppies he is one who does not tire easily

But to an old dog who spends much of his time at rest

A playful puppy is just a young pest

The old dog is never in the mood for play

He growls at the pup for to go away

He does have his moods like a cranky old man

Who is near to the end of his living span.
