They do a lot of cawing before settling in for the night
On their roosting trees at the end of their day
One wonders to each other what do they have to say?
Of their intelligence there is not any doubt
One wonders with each other what would they be talking about?
Some believe when crows are in a talkative mood
That they may be telling their friends of new spots to find food
At twilight on their roosting trees they caw when they meet and each evening it is the same
One wonders do they know each other by name?
Many claim them to be Nature's cleverest birds with ways of their own
Yet so much about them remains to be known
At twilight on their roosting trees by the old country town
The crows are cawing loudly just after sundown.
