The likeable character known as Shane Browne
Though in the twenty first century his sort becoming a rare breed
Every town in the World of a few like him in need
On his forty seventh year a good pitch and putt player and a veteran athlete
He is one of those people who just loves to compete
Though not born and raised in Millstreet where he is loved and well known
Most like to claim him there as one of their own
For worthy causes one who carries the flag
Fifty blood donations to his credit well worthy of a brag
For anyone for to do this is a selfless thing
His praises for this do not feel shy to sing
Born and raised in Tramore in Waterford and of Waterford Gaelic Footballers and Hurlers a devoted fan
But for being loyal to his County in sports one cannot blame the man
Even the most ardent Cork G A A supporter in Millstreet for this Shane can forgive
And him for his loyalty to his County colours have learned with for to live
In him Tramore's loss has become Millstreet's gain
And in the Town in view of Clara hope he does remain
Every town in the World needs a few like Shane Browne
His sort never leave their community down.
