For a devoted deceased member is tolling farewell
As the hearse that bears her last remains the cortege leads the way
To the nearby cemetery where she will forever lay
Though into her eighties there were parting tears
In the eyes of the people who had known her for years
She had attended church services as a child with her brother and her mum and dad
And all who knew her at her passing are left feeling sad
She never had children or was never anyone's wife
Devotion to her god and the church her main interests in life
In her working years as a State Registered Nurse she was compassionate and kind
And to help those in need of helping she was alwaays willingly inclined
The church bell for her tolling as she begins her final drive
But in all who loved and knew her she remains alive.
