Betty Forde from life has passed away
Born and raised in Direen near Millstreet Town
Sadly she has seen her last sundown
Of years perhaps close to the four score
She raised her children in Claramore
Blond and attractive in her physical prime
Though this in years is going back in time
One of the finest in her time in Millstreet
A down to earth person and nice for to meet
Twenty kilometres at least from her home countryside
In Ballyclough she grew old and in the Mercy University Hospital in Cork she died
Though physically she had known of far better years
She was one well worthy of parting tears
Her gift of life from her may well have gone
But in all who knew her good memories of her will live on
In Millstreet by Cashman's Hill in St Mary's her last remains lay
Not far from where she first saw the light of day
From life for all of us a final release
May Betty Forde forever rest in peace.
