Galahs

Familiar in their feathers of pink and grey
Parrots i see often though not every day
In small flock to flocks of one hundred sometimes near to two
Galahs known to some as pink and grey cockatoo
Quite pretty to look at with ways of their own
All over Australia they are widely known
High in a cavity in an old tree
The female lay white eggs of four sometimes three
Compared to most others cockatoos they have a pleasant sort of a song
Once seen and once heard you never again get them wrong
Sometimes see them eating grain spilt from trucks on the grass by roadway
Yet so much to be known about them in truth one can say
They eat leaf buds, roots, nuts, insects, seed and grain
And once seen and once heaard you will know them again.
