But at least anyhow you did try your best
To come out second best is never a sin
And you may be near to a very big win
It is the praises of the winner the majority sing
And for the loser disappointment is a natural thing
But it does take a brave one for to lose with grace
And you accepted defeat with a smile on your face
A hard fact of life that anyone would not choose
For one to win big many do have to lose
It is a tough climb to the summit of fame
In all aspects of life it is much the same
And though a loss can sow in one the seeds of self doubt
Competiting is what it is mostly about.
