Homeless and hungry at fifteen and at night sleeping rough
So many young people live like him in the World of today
And this is a sad thing for to have to say
The judgmental say everyone have life choices words are easily said
It is hard to feel happy when hope in you is all but dead
Abused by his father the reason that home he fled
His mum overseas to another man wed
So many young people like him in the World of today
Without hope for the future living in the hardest way
Born into life for to battle the odds
They must be the children of the lesser gods
Of a better future he can only live in hope
He does seem so young to be struggling to cope
He has little if anything to feel happy about
In him a lack of self confidence gives rise to a lack of worth and self doubt
Of those in poverty as teenagers success stories are few
And this is not saying anything that is new
At least he is one who has nothing to lose
But his is not the life any teenager would choose.
