Yet we take and take from her and in return to her little give
And for her hidden treasures dig huge holes in her ground
In the twenty first century among humanity greed does abound
For the Earth that feeds all of us so few seem to care
She is the one who creates every billionaire
With her others life forms few of us wish to share
Destruction of natural habitat due to human greed is no longer rare
Though for our very survival on her we depend
Most of us humans do not treat our Earth Mother as our greatest friend
To abuse the one we depend on to live seems quite silly indeed
Of far more human friends Mother Earth is in need
We take and take from her and in return to her little give
Yet she is the one that we depend on to live.
